Keel Repairs
Posted on: 01/19/2009 10:28 AM
The RC Laser kell has a soft plastic covering over the lead 'torpedo'. Has anyone worked out a way of repairing the soft plastic in the event of damage from hitting underwater obstacles ??

Try some white sikaflex fast cure.

This is not now necessary - in WA we have hard plastic covers to fix permanently over the base lead keel and the soft cover can be removed. The soft cover peels off very easily and the hard cover is simply fixed by applying Araldite to the lead keel, clamping up while the glue cures, and cleaning off surplus glue.
